Ivanka Trump slammed for £800 ’lampshade’ dress and discontinued own brand shoes

Ivanka Trump attended an event in honour of Evangelical leadership last night in the State Dining Room of the White House.

She made a bold style choice in a midi pink embellished dress with a full, tiered skirt.

She paired it with a pair of champagne coloured silk pumps with a rectangular shaped diamante front. The outfit was showcased in a tweet by fellow event attendee Becki Falwell, who posted it on her Twitter account @beckilu71.

However, it would seem the experimental style – which differed from Ivanka’s more conservative everyday looks – was not well received.

Ivanka was criticised on social media for her look, with many comparing it to a “lampshade”.

One person wrote: “Good god that dress!! That centre bit looks like a lampshade fringe and all.” (sic)

Another wrote: “Oh come on now. You don’t like ??That’s part of her ivanka trump dress line …. she’s gotta wear that monstrosity ….” (sic)

Yet another user criticised the dress, writing: “I think the real disgrace it’s [Ivanka’s] dress!”.

Not everyone hated the dress, however. One user came to Ivanka’s rescue, writing: “But look at her lovely dress and smile.”

So where was Ivanka’s polarising outfit from? It is worth at least £800 altogether.

The dress is the Ruth Embroidered Long-Sleeve Illusion Cocktail Dress by Alexis.

The high end designer dress originally retailed at £786 from Moda Operandi.

Her champagne coloured pumps are from Ivanka Trump’s now-discontinued line and are known as the Beven 2 style.

They now only available to buy on Amazon after Ivanka’s line was dropped from several department stores. You can buy them from between £31 and £68 from the Amazon website.

Earlier this month, Ivanka Trump stunned in a tight blue dress while out in Pittsburgh.

The facility develops space robotics technology for journeys to planets and into space, working with companies such as NASA.

Ivanka was shown around the facility by Astrobiotic Technology CEO John Thornton, where she even tries out a pen that projects an image of the Moon

Visiting its mammoth and intriguing facility, Ivanka stunned in a blue, tight-fitted pencil dress.

Reflecting the subject of the visit, the dress featured an unusual, exciting, geometric pattern.

The dress came to just below her knees, showing off her long, tanned legs.
