Lady Amelia Windsor: Instagram star snubbed from royal wedding makes feminist statement
Lady Amelia Windsor is a distant relative of Prince Harry, 33.
However, she did not appear to be invited to his wedding to Meghan Markle, 36, as she was not in attendance.
Amelia is 37th in line to the British throne and is the granddaughter of the Queen’s cousin, Prince Edward, Duke of Kent.
However, Amelia still enjoys many of the trappings of royal life, including her title.
She also received an invitation to the Serpentine Summer Party last night with Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.
The annual party has a famous history with the royals.
It is the location Princess Diana chose to wore the “revenge dress” after the news of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles’ affair was revealed.
Lady Amelia, who has modelled for Dolce & Gabnana and worked at Chanel as an intern, looked stunning last night.
She wore a pink, white and grey mini dress with metallic threading.
She added a tiny white watch and pink sandals with a large crystal buckle.
The fashionable royal added large dangling Chanel earrings.
Her hair was left long and natural and her make up was minimal, with a slick of eyeliner.
Her various minimalist tattoos were on show, including what appears to be a pair of bunny ears next to her left breast – clearly visible and not covered by her dress.
Lady Amelia also appeared to show off her feminist credentials by forgoing attending to her underarm hair.
The royal embraced more modern attitudes to personal grooming at the event.
On international women’s day this year in April Lady Amelia revealed her support for the feminist cause.
The student at the University of Edinburgh posted an image of the “woman power” symbol, a fist in the venus symbol.
The image is associated with “radical feminism” of the 60s and 70s.
Around the outside of the image are the phrases “women unite” and “solidarity with womens struggles all over the world”.
Amelia’s own captions said: “Everyday Everywhere #internationalwomensday #womensrights #genderequality”.
The action would likely please Meghan Markle who is a feminist and has been an advocate for women’s rights since a young age.
