Lady Gaga A Star Is Born EXCLUSIVE: Tears, fears, Bradley Cooper & THAT erotic nose scene
A movie star may have been born as Lady Gaga transitions from pop divadom to small screen star to major Oscar contender.
The multi-talented artist was in London’s Leicester Square for the UK and European premiere of A Star Is Born.
She talked exclusively to Express Online about her incredible new movie and paid tribute to her co-star and director, Bradley Cooper.
She also showed a delightfully relaxed and sweet side as we talked tears, fears and an unforgetable moment in the movie with her nose…
A Star Is Born remakes the Barbra Streisand Kris Kristofferson 1973 epic and the 1954 Judy Garland classic.
Gaga plays naive and downtrodden Ally to Cooper’s fading alcoholic star Jackson Maine.
Both give tour de force performances and the award season buzz is already building.
On the red carpet Gaga told us: “The truth is me and Ally are very different. Ally doesn’t believe in herself. When I was 19 years old I was dragging my piano around all the bars banging on every door to play. Nothing could stop me.”
“She’s given up and that’s what you see at the beginning of the film. I hope people come to see the film and the journey they go on. It’s his love that lifts her up.”
Gaga sings the praises of her leading man and reveals he gave her the strength to shed her usual box of tricks and deliver a raw and real performance.
I tease her about a particularly memorable scene where he praises the beauty of her nose and then caresses it in an extraordinarily sexy way.
Gaga roars with laughter and then playfully demonstrates but refuses to take credit for the power and magic of that on screen moment.
She says: ““I don’t think I did that. Bradley did that. I give him full credit for the beauty of this film. He is an incredible visionary. He lifted me up, he made me so comfortable to take off my make-up, to die my hair back to my normal colour and to be someone I hadn’t been for a long a time.”
When I blame her for making me cry for two hours during the movie, she actually grabs my hand in concern and offers a tissue.
Sadly most cinema screenings will not come complete with a comforting superstar on hand, so I recommend you take your own tissues. This movie packs a real punch.
This movie deserves all the advance hype. Do not miss it when it hits cinemas next friday.
