Mamma Mia 2 was narrowly beaten to the number 1 spot in US box offices by Denzel Washington’s Equalizer 2.

But fans of the Abba-themed movie-musical sequel aren’t letting that dampen their spirits.

Neither have critics – Mamma Mia 2 has a 79 percent fresh rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

But fans are insatiable beasts and are already on the hunt for Mamma Mia 2 deleted scenes.

Were these songs cut from Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again?

Pay close attention to the track listing and you’ll see there are two numbers which, despite being on the list, didn’t make it into the movie.

The first features a lesser known Abba tune: I Wonder (Departure).

Aptly, the song was most likely meant to be part of the scene where young Donna, played by Lily James, tells her friends Tanya (Jessica Keenan Wynn) and Rosie (Alexa Davies) off on her adventure.

The song lists Lily James, Jessica Keenan Wynn and Alexa Davies as the singers.

Jessica and Alexa play young Tanya and Rosie respectively, with their older counterparts played by Christine Baranski and Julie Walters, respectively.

The other song which features on the soundtrack list but not in the film is Pierce Brosnan and Amanda Seyfried’s vocals on Knowing Me, Knowing You.

During the movie, Sophie and the older Sam prompt the flashback of young Donna finding out young Sam had a fiancée.

However, Mamm Mia 2 featured the part of the song performed solely by Lily James (young Donna) and Jeremy Irvine (young Sam).

Whatever emotional moment may have transpired between Sophie and Pierce Brosnan’s Sam which required their vocals did not appear in the movie.

Fans are waiting with bated breath to see if these songs appear on an extended DVD featuring deleted scenes.

Additionally, Meryl Streep’s version of The Day Before You Came appears on the digital version of the soundtrack but not in Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again.

The song’s inclusion on the digital soundtrack only has led some to think it is a bonus feature rather than a song attached to a deleted scene.

Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again is in cinemas now.
