Man in his 40s found stabbed to death on bus in central London

The victim, in his 40s, died at the scene in Marylebone, central London in the early hours of this morning.

He was found with stab wounds on a Route 189 bus near Oxford Street at 12.10am.

Detectives are trying to establish where and when the stabbing took place, and no arrests have been made.

The victim has not been named, and next of kin have not yet been informed.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “Detectives in Westminster are investigating after a man with a fatal stab wound was found on a bus in Marylebone.

“Police were called by London Ambulance Service (LAS) at around 12.10am to a male with a stab wound on the Route 189 bus in Gloucester Place, NW1 near Dorset Square.

“Officers and LAS attended, the man – believed aged in his 40’s – was pronounced dead at the scene. 

“Next of kin have not yet been informed.

“Detectives are still at the location and enquiries are underway into the circumstances of when and where the stabbing took place.

“The Homicide and Major Crime Command has been informed.

“There have been no arrests at this stage and enquiries continue.”
