Manchester United hero Ji-Sung Park: Why I always scored against Arsenal
Park won four Premier League titles during his seven-year stint with Manchester United.
During that time he popped up with five goals against Arsenal – much to Gunners fans’ annoyance.
And the former South Korea international has admitted he believes Arsenal’s attacking football would play into his hands during his time at Old Trafford.
“I don’t know why I performed well against Arsenal but probably we prepared well and it could be their football style as well,” he told MUTV.
“They liked the passing game and then with me, we could take the ball and break down the game.
“That kind of football style could have been suited to me more, so that’s one of the reasons I performed well against Arsenal.
“It’s quite difficult to explain but I really enjoyed playing against Arsenal and I’m really pleased that we had great results against them during my career.”
Park left United for Queens Park Rangers in 2012.
He then retired in 2014 after persistent knee problems ruined the latter stages of his career.
