Melania Trump makes one of her final White House appearances before London visit this week

Melania Trump, 48, was at an important political event at in the East Room of the White House last night.

She was seen waiting for her husband, US President Donald Trump to introduce his Supreme Court nominee.

At the event, Donald nominated Brett Kavanaugh to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy.

During the announcement the First Lady looked very serious and businesslike.

The former model wore a black and white ensemble, choosing to blend into the audience rather than stand out.

Befitting of the nature of the occasion, Melania wore a tight black pencil dress that came to her knee.

It featured a white equally fitted top half, with high neck emblazoned with black lines and stripes.

Cinched in at the waist by a black patent belt, the black skirt framed Melania’s svelte physique.

She wore her caramel hair down and wavy, keeping the look understated and natural.

Her makeup was also simple and muted, opting for a brown smokey eye and light brown lip.

Melania’s appearance at the White House was one of the final appearances she will make in the US before heading to London this week.

The Trump’s are touching down in the UK on Thursday, for their highly-anticipated state visit.

The trip will be the first time Melania has visited the UK since her husband became president last year.

After landing at Stansted airport late on Thursday evening, the Trumps will be flown to the US ambassadors residence, Winfield House, in Regent’s Park.

The three-day-trip will see the 48-year-old embark on a lavish itinerary of activities, including a black tie dinner at the opulent Blenheim Palace. 

The Trump’s are also set to meet the Queen at Windsor Castle, and be honoured by the British Army’s oldest and most prestigious regiment, the Coldstream Guards, on their arrival at the castle

Melania and Donald will also be hosted by Theresa May at her country house Chequers during their stay. 

While the President and Prime Minister are embroiled in political talks, Melania is set to be kept company by Theresa’s husband, Philip May.

Used to spending her time with other First Lady’s and wives of politicians, Melania will be in for something different on her first visit to the UK since her husband’s inauguration.

Reported to be a “quiet and reserved” man, Philip is a former banker and has been married to Theresa for 28 years.
