Spanish royal Queen Letizia, 45, showed off her playful side in a sultry red dress and modern updo last night.

Letizia joined King Felipe, 50, for the Premios Fundacion Princesa de Girona, which promotes youth in professional and vocational training.

Despite the wet weather, the mum-of-two wore a summery Carolina Herrera pleated crepe dress, which costs £495.

She teamed this with a skinny black belt to highlight her slim waist.

A pair of red open toe stiletto shoes and red clutch bag completed the colour co-ordinated outfit.

Switching up her look, Letizia wore her hair in a half-up, half-down style which was curled for added volume.

The unusual style is not one she chooses often, tending to opt for more classic looks for events.

Her make-up, however, was her usual favourite of a smoky eye and red lipstick.

Obviously enjoying the Spanish summer, Letizia sported a golden tan which was perfectly offset by the colour of her dress.

Letizia is a fan of colour, often wearing vibrant red outfits, but mostly recently she has been channelling Meghan Markle with her outfits and opting for demure blush tones instead.

This week, Letizia attended the International day of Deafblind People at Plaza de SS.MM. los Retes de Espana in Benidorm, Spain.

Blush pink has been the go to colour for the Duchess of Sussex since she entered the British royal family.

Letizia paid homage to this look as she chose to wear a pink shirt. This is the second time she has taken style cues from Meghan. Queen Letizia copied Meghan’s messy bun last week.

The beautiful Spanish royal showed off her slim, toned arms in the sleeveless blush pink shirt style.

She wore a black circle skirt which nipped in at the waist to show off her slim figure.

Letizia is back on Spanish soil after enjoying a trip to The White House to meet Donald and Melania Trump.

Both known for their impeccable style, the two women competed for the title of tiniest waist with their outfit choices.

However, Queen Letizia had a trick up her sleeve inspired by the First Lady herself.

She wore a £1,286 pink dress from US designer Michael Kors.

The form fitting dress showed off the former newsreader’s stunning figure, and the exact design had been worn by Melania just last year.
