Queen Letizia, 46, looked chic today as she showed her support for a cause close to her heart.

The Spanish royal chose a fitted grey dress as she attended a conference to mark World Rare Disease Day.

The checked dress was paired with a thin black belt that nipped her in at the waist.

She tied together her stylish outfit with a black clutch and matching black heels.

What was Queen Letizia doing there?

The royal attended the conference today at the Duques de Pastrana Palace in Madrid.

As one of the directors of the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases she handed out awards at the event.

The stylish monarch also took to the stage to make a speech showing the importance of her role as one of the directors of the federation.

She attended the event as part of World Rare Disease Day, which this year is focusing on uniting social and health care.

The royal opted to wear a knee-length checked dress that had a flattering asymmetric neckline.

Her Majesty styled her hair in a bouncy blow dry which showed off dazzling silver earrings underneath.

Queen Letizia enhanced her natural looks with a smokey eye and slick of light brown lipstick.

As she presented awards on stage, the Queen could be seen applauding the winners.

The president of the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases and the Minister of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare also attended the event.

Queen Letizia often sports an elegant look as she attends events, and looked smart dressed in blue for a royal meeting last month.

At a Royal Theatre Foundation meeting, she chose a beautiful blue number.

The Spanish royal wore a below-the-knee dress with embroidered butterflies on the top half and capped-sleeves.

Days earlier, she looked stylish in an all-blue suit during another outing in Madrid.

She wore a sharp blue suit over a paler-toned blue jumper as she stepped out to mark the international day of secure internet.
