South West Four Review: Chase & Status close epic weekender
August bank holiday weekend saw some of the leading artists in electronic, drum & bass, rap, grime and pop music descend on Clapham Common.
DJ and producer Marshmello headlined Saturday with a truly immersive experience including 3D glasses handed out to experience ‘melloville’. Chase and Status closed the event with their high tempo energy and classics such as ‘Blind Faith’ and ‘End Credits’.
Saturday saw revelers bask in the sunshine as the likes of house legend MK hosted his Area 10 brand, Oliver Heldens presented the Heldeep stage while the rumored next James Bond, Idris Elba, wowed his cheering fans with a set of house music including some ‘old skool classics’.
Those who ventured to South London on Sunday had a slightly different day of weather, but the rain didn’t dampen spirits with a host of top talent on show including the likes of Bugzy Malone, Lethal Bizzle, Big Narstie and Craig David, who presented his TS5 brand with his rendition of Justin Bieber’s ‘Love Yourself’.
With the massive acts and huge diversity in styles, the music event has gone from strength to strength since it’s inception in 2003, and you can easily SW4 being here for another 15 years.
