Star Wars 9 leak: Is HAN SOLO back in THIS heartbreaking scene with 2 classic characters?

It should be the triumphant ending to a nine film saga that has spanned five decades in cinemas. Instead, the filmmakers are left without all three major iconic legacy characters.

There were howls of protest when Han Solo was killed off at the end of The Force Awakens and a virtual fan revolution when Luke faded into the Force at the end of The Last Jedi.

Carrie’s Fisher’s shock passing suddenly left Lucasfilm without any of the ‘big three’.

JJ Abrams has a Herculean task to bring the entire three trilogies home and somehow bring acka huge section of the fandom alienated by Episode 8. New leaked concepy art shows he has found an incredible solution.

A huge announcement last week by Lucasfilm revealed the return of Leia: “The role of Leia Organa will once again be played by Carrie Fisher, using previously unreleased footage shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.“

Abrams added: “We were never going to recast, or use a CG character. With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and role as Leia in Episode IX by using unseen footage we shot together in Episode VII.”

Early reports suggested the footage would show a scene with Maz Kanata handing Luke’s long-lost lightsaber to Leia.

But now a description has also emerged of a scene with Han Solo and Ben Solo.

Miek Zeroh reported the following about concept art images: “One has all to do with Han Solo, Leia and Ben Solo, which could tell us this is a flashback sequence. ..

“One (image) has a wide shot on an unknown planet at dusk with a unique ship design the surface and a young male walking off a ramp. It appears to be Ben Solo. Two figures behind him on the ship are Leia and next to her is Han, however Han’s face is obscure. He sports the jacket from The Force Awakens.”

It is well-known that Harrison Ford has not signed on for any more Star Wars movies and if Han’s face is in shadows, this allows the filmmakers to use a stand-in for the scene.

But what is the scene described?

One logical idea is the planet is the location of Luke Skywalker’s secret Jedi academy. Is this the moment Leia and Han leave their son in Luke’s care?

JJ Abrams has made it clear he will be bringing in much classic Star Wars history. He is also expected to expand on Rey’s Forceback vision of Ben/Kylo Ren. It would also be logical to explore more of Ben’s fall towards the Dark Side as Snoke seduced him with visions while he was training under Luke.

With one upcoming filming location again set for Jordan, this could be the barren landscape shown in Rey’s Forceback vision which may believ showed Ben and his allies killing Luke’s students, as well as the location of Luke’s memory of his fight with Ben/Kylo in The Last Jedi.
