Star Wars 9 leaks: 'The Knights of Ren have been cast' for THIS new scene
Star Wars fans need some good news.
Whether a supporter of Rian Johnson’s revisionist Last Jedi or a member of the underground resistance fighting for Kathleen Kennedy’s downfall, surely everyone wants Kylo to get his old buddies back?
Now that he is the leader of the First Order, he needs his own elite guard. The Emperor had the Imperial Guards, Snoke had his Praetorian Guards and now it looks like fans will finally see the Knights of Ren back on screen.
There are reports that young actors are already in training with Adam Driver and new concept art has been leaked.
A new report said: “We learned of a new concept art or storyboard description actually describes six shaded figures with primitive weapons such as spears or axes in front of a tall structure.”
Kylo Ren is not shown in the reported artwork but the precise number immediately suggest The Knights of Ren. Kylo was shown with his knights in the famous Force vision scene from The Force Awakens.
When Rey touched the Skywalker lightsaber at Maz Kanata’s castle, she saw the seven bald-clad shadowy warriors carrying out a brutal slaughter in the pouring rain.
This ‘tall structure’ also raises huge hopes fans might be going back to a certain Sith castle on Mustafar.
Kylo’s obsession with his grandfather will certainly have lead his to Darth Vader’s iconic lair. What better place for him to have his secret base or even new stronghold?
Numerous reports have also reinforced the hopes of new scenes with Kylo and his knights.
Star Wars comentator Mike Zeroh added: “We heard there are going to be a group of male actors in their twenties working with Adam Driver. They have been training for their roles before filming begins in July.”
STAR WARS BACKLASH: IS KATHLEEN KENNEDY NO LONGER INVOLVED IN EPISODE 9?
Six shadowy figures in artwork and young male actors working on fight scenes with Adama Driver?
You don’t need Jedi powers to work this one out.
Fans fully expected the Knights to show up in Episode 8, but Rian Johnson explained that he couldn’t find a place for them in The Last Jedi. Instead he opted to introduce Snoke’s six Praetorian Guards. They were apparently the most fearsome and highly-trained fighters in the entire galaxy, but fell to one (admittedly incredibly powerful but emotionally unstable) Sith apprentice and a powerful but barely-trained apprentice Jedi.
The Knights already feature in current Star Wars merchandise and books, and are enormously popular with fans, especially those who feel many things promised in The Force Awakens were not delivered in the next movie.
Abrams would presumably wish to reinstate the powerful characters and teased storylined he introduced in his first Star Wars outing. Perhaps he could bring back Luke while he’s at it?
It was never explained what Rey had actually seen. Was it a vision of the past or the future? It has always been a particularly frustrating loose end which Abrams could finally tie up.
STAR WARS 9 IS OUT IN DECEMBER 2019
