Star Wars 9 new set image: Is THIS where Luke is? Will Luke's ghost appear to Rey HERE?

The ninth Star Wars movie has started filming fo ra Christmas 2019 release date.

Reports, rumours and leaks are already swirling, but the film makers have also started to use social media to get their official message out there.

Solo A Star Wars Story director cleverly used online reveals to rebrand his movie and it looks like Episode IX will follow suit.

A new picture posted by the director of photography, Dan Mindel, gives a glimpse of two major plot teasers.

Mindel is focussed on showing off how many lights there are: “Space lights… unbeatable quality source of ambient lighting… 6000 watts, 6 lamps or 3000 watts 3 lamps!”

Fans, naturally, immediately spotted two major clues about Star Wars 9.

To the left of the image looks like the side of an enormous ship, which many believe is the new space barge for outlaw Maz Kanata. The space pirate is reported to play a larger role in the final film.

But it is what can be seen in the main part of the shot that really fired up fans.

The mysterious arch looks like some kind of temple and underneath is a circular shape that looks very familiar.

It looks like the mosaic of the Prime Jedi that was on the floor at Luke’s First Jedi temple on Ahch-To.

Will Rey go back there to make contact with Luke’s Force ghost and complete her training?

A leaked scene description revealed that sets were being built in London for two scenes with Luke, Rey and Kylo Ren.

Of course, if it is a previously-seen location, it could also mean Luke is returning in flashback scenes.

The First Temple, mysterious books and glimpsed hints of the ancient Jedi histories were another aspect of The Last Jedi that promised major revelations but then pulled the rug from audiences.

Will JJ Abrams explain the ancient divisions between the Light and Dark Sides, introduce the Whills and maybe reveal Snoke’s origins or even Rey’s parents.

Many fans had always believed it would be Luke who restored balance to the Force, but perhaps it will be Rey and Kylo Ren, with help from the Jedi master? There could be no better place for it than the First Jedi temple…
