Star Wars 9: Surely THIS proves Billy Dee Williams is shooting Episode IX?

He starred in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi and now it look like he’ll be back as Lando Calrissian for Star Wars 9.

On June 28 this month the Saskatchewan Entertainment Expo announced that Billy had to cancel his appearance and the reason certainly will excite fans.

Spotted by Screen Rant, it reads: “We’ve got some sad news for you all today.

“Due to a film schedule conflict, Billy Dee Williams will not be able to appear at Sask Expo this year.”

They added: “He sends his regrets, and hopes to make it up to his Saskatchewan fans in 2019.

“We’re sorry you can’t make it Billy, but we understand that these things can happen. We hope to see you next year!”

This news follows Billy’s son on Twitter writing: “DO NOT ask me about Lando rumours…

“I can neither deny or confirm anything. I am clueless, so speculate as you will. Seriously.”

His son’s remarks also follow two sources claiming that Billy is confirmed as Lando for Episode IX.

The news is claimed by Fantha Tracks who say “we were asked by our original source to verify this another independent source before we ran it.

“We did that, confirming that this is indeed correct.”

And that source claims follow a report last month that Williams has been getting into shape and changed his diet.

As a former Star Wars actor Billy does the convention rounds and most recently appeared at MegaCon Orlando.

The convention’s official Twitter account wrote: “Fun Billy Dee Williams fact: Billy just had his 81st birthday.

“He’s training three times a week with a trainer and has a whole new diet.”

Star Wars Episode IX is released in UK cinemas on December 19, 2019.
