Star Wars SHOCK: Did Captain Marvel star Brie Larson tease she’s becoming a Jedi?

Earlier this month the 29-year-old Captain Marvel star revealed how Nick Fury actor Samuel L Jackson let her hold his lightsaber. Jackson played Mace Windu in the prequel trilogy and now Larson wants to follow suit and become a Jedi. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Larson said: “I got to hold [Samuel L Jackson’s] lightsaber! He brought it to me on set on May the 4th, and I cried. It was so cool. I wanna be a Jedi.” The official Star Wars Twitter account went on to share this quote in a tweet, before writing: “The Force is definitely with you, Captain.”

Larson replied: “Honoured to be an intergalactic hero with you :).”

While Fandom mocked up an image of the actress as a Jedi, to which she responded: “!!!!!!”

It’s worth noting that Disney own both Star Wars and Marvel Studios, so perhaps they were teasing plans for the future.

Both the Game of Thrones writers and The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson are working on separate new Star Wars trilogies so there’s plenty of room for Larson to enter the franchise.

Of course, what could stop her committing to Star Wars is the fact that she’s already contractually tied to Marvel Studios as Captain Marvel for the foreseeable.

And just like with Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man, Chris Evans’ Captain America and Chris Hemsworth’s Thor she will no doubt be down for many movies.

Presumably, this will consist of a Captain Marvel solo trilogy plus three or four Avengers movies and who knows what else.

But of course, if Disney wanted to they could fit both franchises around Larson if she signed up to become a Jedi.

Yesterday Captain Marvel reviews were released and the movie currently has 84% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

Two Express.co.uk writers – and – have shared their thoughts.

Meanwhile, Larson’s superhero will next appear in Avengers Endgame this April.

Captain Marvel is out on Friday.
