Star Wars SHOCK: Original plan for Rey’s parents was CHANGED by Last Jedi's Rian Johnson
WARNING SPOILERS FOR THE LAST JEDI AHEAD
Back in 2015 Abrams’ The Force Awakens set up a number of big questions, including the identity of Rey’s parents.
Then came sequel The Last Jedi two years later, with fans expecting an amazing reveal.
However not everyone was happy, with Kylo Ren explaining to Rey that her parents were essentially nobodies.
Pegg continued: “I think that’s kind of been undone slightly by the last one.
“There was some talk about, you know, a kind of relevant lineage for her.
“But I honestly don’t know, and I don’t know if anybody knows. We shall see.”
Nevertheless Abrams has returned to finish the trilogy by writing and directing Episode IX.
If Abrams is unhappy with Johnson’s reveal that Rey’s parents are nobodies, he could just make it that Ren was lying to her to manipulate her.
Since the sequel trilogy is tying up the Skywalker saga, it would make much more sense for her to be related to Luke or Leia.
Star Wars Episode IX is released on December 20, 2019.
