The First Purge after credits scene: Is there a The First Purge end credits scene?
The First Purge is the fourth in the Purge franchise but brings viewers back to the inception of the Purge.
And it seems superhero movies aren’t the only ones making use of the cinematic device known as the end credit scene.
Is there a The First Purge after credit scene?
Fan of The Purge will be delighted to hear the answer is yes. Sort of.
Warning: Spoilers for The First Purge ahead.
Given The First Purge is part of a franchise, it means there’s plenty to set up and establish for future releases even after the credits start to roll.
Half-way through the credits, audiences see one of the leaders of The New Founding Fathers speaking at what appears to be a press conference.
He claims The First Purge experiment test was a success and the government is looking into expanding the isolated test into a nationwide purge, which could happen in as little as a year.
The mid-credit scene could be fodder for a sequel, or a teaser for teaser’s sake.
But that’s not all The First Purge has to offer fans who are willing to wait through the credits.
After the screen goes black, the new trailer for The Purge TV show plays.
The TV series will be coming to USA in the autumn and this new teaser trailer is slightly more cinematic than the previously released trailer.
The Purge is an American dystopian action horror movie, which has four movies: The Purge (2013), The Purge: Anarchy (2014), The Purge: Election Year (2016) and now The First Purge.
The setting is a future dystopic America where every year there is a 12-hour period during which all crime, including murder, is legal.
The First Purge is a prequel, set in 2014 where the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community.
The experiment hopes to push the crime rate below 1% for the rest of the year.
It was created by James DeMonaco, who also wrote and directed the first three films.
Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions, Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller of Platinum Dunes, and Sebastien Lemercier are all co-producers along with DeMonaco.
Blumhouse is best known for being the producers of Jordan Peele’s critically acclaimed Get Out, as well as the Insidious series.
The First Purge is playing now in cinemas.
