The royals who WON’T be invited to Prince Louis’ christening – who’s made the guestlist?

Prince Louis was born just over two months ago, with his christening taking place next Monday at the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace.

Unlike Royal Weddings, royal christenings are small and intimate affairs, with only immediate family and godparents usually present.

There are 24 titled members of the British royal family, but all are reportedly not to receive an invitation to Louis’ special day.

For Princess Charlotte’s, 3, christening in 2015, only a handful of royals were in attendance.

Prince William’s father Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall were there to see Charlotte christened, with Kate’s parents Carole and Michael also in attendance.

Another royal couple who were on Charlotte’s guest list was the Queen and Prince Philip.

Prince Harry didn’t actually make it to the Princess’ Sandringham christening, referring to himself as a “bad uncle” for missing the day due to previous commitments.

Apart from William and Kate, no other senior royals were on the guest list for the day.

Prince George’s, 4, christening was also attended by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, along with Charles and Camilla and Prince Harry. Zara Tindall also made the list as she was named one of George’s godparents.

Royals such as Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice and William’s uncles and aunts were all reportedly not invited to either of the children’s christenings.

The same format is supposedly set to take place for Prince Louis’ christening next week.

Bride-to-be Princess Eugenie is not expected to be in attendance, neither will any other royals, unless named as godparents.

With Prince Harry in London this time, himself and Meghan Markle are both expected to attend.

It is not known if Prince Philip will attend Prince Louis’ day, having retired from public engagements.

Carole, Michael, James and Pippa Middleton, along with Pippa’s husband James Matthews and those named as Louis’ godparents, along with their spouses, will make up the rest of the congregation.

Prince Louis’ christening will be the third for Kate, with pressure on the Duchess of Cambridge to impress in the sartorial stakes during the day.

But what will the stylish royal wear for the occasion? We can look to the christenings of George and Charlotte for a huge clue.

It might be easier than you think to guess – as Kate wore exactly the same designers for the last two christenings.

For Prince George’s christening, she wore a creamy white Alexander McQueen dress with ruffle detail.

For Princess Charlotte’s christening, Kate wore exactly the same combination of milliner, dress designer and shoe designer.
