UFC news: Conor McGregor vs Khabib 'scheduled', Till takes aim, Nick Diaz's rant
UFC News – Conor McGregor vs Khabib ‘scheduled’
Conor McGregor’s grudge match with Khabib Nurmagomedov has allegedly been ‘scheduled’ for UFC 229, according to the new UFC lightweight champion’s father Abdulmanap.
“I think it is scheduled for October 6,” Abdulmanap told CTABKA TV. “It is undesirable to say about this now but negotiations are nearing completion. This is Conor.”
McGregor, 30, hasn’t set foot inside the Octagon since claiming the lightweight title in the main event of UFC 205, a card where he became the promotion’s first simultaneous two-weight world champion.
UFC News – Darren Till takes aim at Tyron Woodley
Rising UFC welterweight Darren Till has taken aim at 170lbs champion Tyron Woodley for turning down a fight with him.
“I’m not too bothered about it, but I get a feeling that he thinks that nobody is worthy of fighting him for the title. I think he just wants to hold onto the belt for as long as he can,” Till told MMA Fighting’s Peter Carroll.
“He’s going to have to make a decision soon. If he doesn’t want to fight me, who does he want to fight? It’s just me and Colby and Colby is injured apparently, so who is there? It’s a weird one, but I’m just waiting to see what happens,” he said.
“Maybe he wants to hold on for the Colby fight or maybe he just doesn’t want to come back — maybe he just doesn’t want to fight me. There could be many reasons but I think we’re going to find out what’s going to happen in the next few days.
“I’m not thinking too much into it at the moment because I want to have more information. I just want to see what it’s going to be, whether it’s me fighting Woodley or if he’s going to wait to fight Colby.
“He’s not getting the Georges St-Pierre fight, he’s not getting Nate Diaz, so who is he going to fight?”
UFC News – Nick Diaz responds to Colby Covington
Nick Diaz has seemingly issued an expletive-laden response to Colby Covington, who took aim at the former UFC welterweight title challenger earlier this week.
“Yeah, come f**k with me man. You ain’t s**t, pull up,” the eldest Diaz brother said in an Instagram video. “You ain’t gonna do s**t, b***h. You ain’t gonna do s**t, b***h.
“You know who I’m talking to, b***h. F**k you, you ain’t s**t.
“Go the f**k home. Go home to your family and life, b***h. Go get it on your little f*****g p***y a** hour.”
