X-Men Dark Phoenix release date DELAYED AGAIN plus Untitled Deadpool movie for Christmas
Earlier this week the first full trailer for the fourth film in the Marvel X-Men prequel series was released.
And while posters came with the US release date of February 14 and UK one of February 5, the film has now suddenly been pushed back.
This isn’t the first time the release date has moved, with the original being set for November this year.
But according to Variety Fox has moved the film four months back after there was a strong response to the trailer from Chinese viewers.
Allegedly moving the film to the summer means the studio will be able to capitalise on Asian audiences.
Meanwhile Fox has moved their other X-Men movie Gambit, a rom-com starring Channing Tatum, to March 2020.
Also Alita: Battle Angel, which was due for release this Christmas, has been pushed back to Dark Phoenix’s original slot on Valentine’s Day 2019.
But the most surprising news of all has to be the announcement of another Deadpool movie for this Christmas.
After all Deadpool 2 only came out in the summer, so how is this possible?
Well it’s not an entirely new film for the Merc with a Mouth, but what is believed to be a PG-13 or 12A version of Deadpool 2.
Ryan Reynolds even teased the rerelease with a tweet recreating a scene from Princess Bride.
Deadpool is depicted reading a bedtime story while wearing a Santa hat.
While other X-Men movies are 12As, Deadpool is R-rated or a 15 for its adult themes and violence.
The only other exception among the films is Logan, Hugh Jackman’s last outing as Wolverine.
The Deadpool 2 alternative version is set to arrive on December 21.
Dark Phoenix hits cinemas on June 7, 2019.
