Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, 53, is the celebrity chef well known for Channel 4 programme River Cottage.

The father of four is from Hampstead, London, and has been married to his wife Marie Derome since 2001.

He is a Green Party supporter and is well known for his animal welfare activism.

Educated at Eton College and St Peter’s College, Oxford, where he read philosophy and psychology, the cook has been incredibly successful.

He has appeared on Channel 4’s Big Food Fight and The F Word.

He currently runs the River Cottage Canteen and Deli in Axminster and has two more in Plymouth and Winchester.

In his career Hugh has made calls for people to move away from using meat that has been intensively farmed.

He called out some chefs “on the road to Michelin stars” who still use battery farmed chickens.

He also created a documentary Hugh’s War on Waste, which looked at food and clothing waste.

Tonight on the third episode of Britain’s Fat Fight with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall the presenter will combat the UK’s obesity crisis.

Hugh will look at junk food marketing and will speak at a Conservative Party Conference on the issue of fast food.

Another famous chef Mary Berry’s net worth has been revealed recently.

A British icon, the baker has inspired many with her culinary prowess.

Born in Bath, Mary was educated at Bath College of Domestic Science before moving to France at the age of 21 to study at Le Cordon Bleu.

However, she is best known for appearing on The Great British Bake Off from 2010 to 2016.
