Avengers Infinity War SMASHES China box office record: Can it beat Star Wars and Titanic?

Avengers 3 has already broken the Star Wars The Force Awakens record that nobody thought was possible.

Star Wars 7 banked $248million in its US opening weekend and Infinity War surprised all the analysts by taking a whopping $257 million.

The one territory where Star Wars has always struggled is China but the Avengers look set to triumph there, too.

Industry reports have revealed that Infinity War has posted the all-time highest advance tickets sales, even beating the traditionally dominant home-grown releases.

Infinity War already sits at a huge $1.2billion worldwide after just ten days on release. This makes it the 14th biggest film of all time… So far.

The movie opens in China on Friday and presales have already hit almost $50million, an all-time record for the second-biggest box office region in the world. The biggest previous Hollywood movie was Fate of the Furious with just half that. Infinity War has already passed the Chinese record-holder, local movie Monster Hunt 2.

Forbes magazine is already confidently predicting an opening weekend of well over $100million. 

Suddenly The Force Awakens’ crown as the biggest movie of the Millennium looks in trouble.

Infinity War should soon soar past $1.5billion, leaving only four movies to beat.

Jurassic World’s $1.67billion was always in reach but now many are sure Infinity War will catch The Force Awakens’ $2billion crown.

Star Wars 7 only took $125million in China, compared to Avengers Age of Ultron’s $240million and the biggest ever Hollywood movie there, Fate of the Furious with $390million.

Suddenly it seems there are no limits for the MCU blockbuster. Could it even beat Titanic? 

It seems impossible that any modern movie will ever catch Avatar’s collossal $2.7billion but Infinity War could sink Titanic’s $2.18billion.

Thanos may have demanded silence, but the Marvel and Disney celebrations will be ringing around the entire world.
