Avengers Infinity war DVD release date: When is it out on DVD? Will it be on Netflix?

Earth’s Mightiest Heroes gather together to defend the universe from the Mad Titan Thanos, as he hunts down the six infinity stones. 

The latest action-packed addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe has got fans desperate for more, as they wait to find out what happens after the HUGE cliff-hanger ending. 

Marvel are releasing Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel between now and Avengers 4, making fans wait to find out what happens. 

If you can’t get enough of Marvel’s Avengers Infinity War, read on to find out when the movie comes out on DVD, and if it will be released on Netflix. 

When Will Avengers Infinity War come out on DVD? 

The hit success of Avengers Infinity War has taken the world by storm. 

So far, Infinity War has made $1.659 billion dollars worldwide, becoming one of the most successful movies ever made.

The film is currently 18 days into its cinema runtime, with experts expecting the film to stop playing in theatres in early August. 

The film is playing across more than 4,400 cinemas in the US alone, bringing in $552 million domestically. 

Given the fact that most other Marvel films wait three months to release a DVD version of the film, fans can expect the DVD and Blu-ray of Avengers Infinity War to release in August. 

Dvdreleasedates.com said: “Avengers: Infinity War DVD and Blu-ray release date is estimated for August 2018 and available on Digital HD from Amazon Video and iTunes is estimated for August 2018.”

Fans can expect to pick up the DVD copy of the film for $19.99 (£15), or the Blue-Ray for $24.99 (£19).

Marvel is also releasing all their films in 4K UHD upgrade versions, with Infinity War likely to be available for $29.99 (£22).

Typically, movies are released for digital download and streaming a week ahead of the physical formats. Black Panther, for example, was available digitally on May 8 through Digital HD and 4k Ultra HD. A week later it was released on DVD and Blu-Ray on May 15.

UK fans should note these are all US dates. Black Panther will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK on June 11.

There is no word yet on UK dates for Infinity War but it seems unlikely fans would have to wait a month longer than US fans.

Avengers: Infinity War is already available to pre-order via Amazon, iTunes, Zavvi, Microsoft, HMW and other retailers – both 3D and 4K versions are available, as well as single disc and two-disc special editions.

Will Avengers Infinity War be released on Netflix? 

Netflix has been typically slow to add Disney or Marvel films to its list, with different rules applying to different movies. 

However, this time, Infinity War may not be heading to Netflix at all.  

For American Netflix subscribers, for every Disney movie that’s come to Netflix as part of the contract struck back in 2014, new movies have arrived roughly between eight and nine months after the initial theatre release.

However, that deal is coming to an end in 2019, with all movies previously included in that deal expiring from Netflix in 2019 for US users, evidenced by the removal of Disney titles from Netflix so far. 

This has yet to be confirmed, however, so if you anticipate Netflix to keep that deal, you can expect Avengers: Infinity War to be arriving on Netflix before the year is out. In the timeline, fans are currently expecting the US to be streaming the movie around November/December 2018.

Captain America: Civil War released around the same time in 2016 during April and arrived on Netflix on December 25th, 2016. 

Netflix CA Release Date

Netflix Canada, unlike America, isn’t beholden to the same contract as the United States which is expiring. It does, however, receive the Marvel movies on roughly the same timeline as the US currently so you can expect a December 2018 release.

Netflix UK Release Date

The United Kingdom doesn’t have the same deals as above. Those movie rights belong to Sky who gets new Disney, Star Wars, and Marvel movie rights before the likes of Netflix. 

That’s not to say that they won’t receive it at all. In fact, Netflix UK typically gets all Marvel movies a few years down the line.
