Avengers Infinity War: There are TWO 'Infinity Gauntlets' – Guess where THIS one is?

Fans saw Thanos pulling his famous Gauntlet out of some sort of vault during one of the  end-credits sequences in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

All Marvel followers know by now that the Titan seeks to reunite all the Infinity Stones together to create an unbelievably powerful tool that will give him god-like abilities and control over time, space and matter.

Throughout the recent Marvel movies we have seen all of them except the Soul Stone, which many expect to be revealed in Thor: Ragnarok.

However, some eagle-eyed fans have been pointing out that Marvel already showed another Infinity Gauntlet in the early days of the MCU franchise.

Many fans first spotted the Infinity Gauntlet on display in Odin’s Treasure Room in the first Thor movie.

Marvel boss Kevin feige was very clear that they are two separate gauntlets when he told Cinemablend: “There are two different gloves. That was not Odin’s vault that you see at the end (of Age of Ultron).”

Furthermore, Thanos is shown wearing his Gautlet on his left hand in all imagery, including the new Infinity War official poster. The one that was shown in Thor is for the right hand.

Are they a matching pair? Can either one wield the six Stones, or does this mean there are more Infinity Stones out there?

In the original Marvel source comics Thanos always had two gloves or gauntlets, long before he even know about the Infinity Stones. He modified his left gauntlet to house the stones.

The six stones are the Power Stone (the orb from Guardians of the Galaxy), the Space Stone (the Tesseract from Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers), the Reality Stone (the Aether from Thor: The Dark World), the Mind Stone (the gem from Loki’s staff in The Avengers and The Avengers: Age of Ultron), the Time Stone (Doctor Strange’s Eye of Agamoto) and teh as-yet-unseen Soul Stone.

One fan wondered: “There is a possibility that Marvel is hiding six stones from us and there are 12 stones.”

Another added: “The glove isn’t the power so maybe two were made so that you can have varying numbers between there to six stones per glove, maybe?”

A further commentator added a very good point: “It is POSSIBLE that they would use three stones on each glove, however, in the Thanos gauntlet trailer, it shows all six in the gauntlet… Also, I think that the single gauntlet is required to harness the energy correctly, that is why Thanos created it.”

Ultimately, it is most likely that the scenes in Odin’s vault were shot long before Marvel had finalised the plans for the MCU and the Phase Three climax in Infinity War.

As one fan puts it succinctly: “The Gauntlet in Odin’s collection is just an easter egg. Lets not wet our pants over it.”
