For those that find hair styling a time-consuming and unrewarding task to take on each morning, the time and effort could now be drastically reduced.

The last few years have seen Dyson branch into hair styling, by adapting its suction technology into fast, effective and market-leading devices.

Due to the unique technology, the brand’s devices come at a cost, but the popularity of the Dyson Airwrap shows that beauty fans are willing to invest for the promise of an easier daily hair routine.

The Airstrait™ Straightener is Dyson’s first air-powered straightener, following the same concept as the Airwrap – to ultimately reduce heat damage and promote healthier styling.

Buy: Dyson Airstrait™ Straightener (£449.99)

The new hair tool cuts down drying and styling time, as it can be used directly on wet hair, to simultaneously dry and straighten.

Unlike regular straighteners, the high-pressure airflow is far less damaging on the hair, and there are two pre-set modes, as the hair tool can also be used on dry hair and for touch-ups after styling.

The nickel and copper design is stylish and sleek, and is designed to be displayed when not in use.

Boots shoppers have started investing in the hair tool, with some saying they ‘love it for thick and coarse’ hair.

Tracy said: ”I love the Airstraight! It dries and straightens my hair in half the time. I have thick, damaged hair (from bleaching) and needed a way to reduce the heat used on my hair. I also love this because my hair still has some volume compared to traditional hot plate straighteners that leave my hair completely flat.”

Libra1013 commented: ”I love this tool for my coarse, thick hair! Best tool I have ever tried! I highly recommend watching the style videos for tips especially drying the roots first. I enjoy the fast drying and styling combo with heat followed by a cold finish to lock in the cuticles. No static during these winter months. Only improvement suggestion is to make future models lighter in weight. I do not travel with it bc of the heavy weight.”

Hairlicious also added: ”Better than a salon blowout. This pays for itself. Hair stays straight until it’s washed. Crazy but true. Amazing technology. I have long thick, wavy, frizzy heavily highlighted hair. It normally takes me 1 1/2 hrs to style my hair. I normally blow dry then use a flat iron or another appliance. This is an all-in-one appliance. It only took me 20 minutes to dry and style with shiny glossy flowy hair. It’s true no heat damage. Having said that I will continue to use a heat protectant to be on the safe side. I just wished it wasn’t as expensive, that it came with a travel case and a fine-tooth stainless steel comb. I do the comb chase method. I was not paid nor was I given my appliances for free. But if Dyson wants to give me one that would be awesome!”

There’s no doubt that the hair tool is expensive and not an affordable option for many shoppers, but the most similar alternative would be to use a hot brush like the Revamp Progloss, to dry, stretch and smooth the hair after washing.
