The iconic US festival is back in April and its bill includes top-tier acts such as Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, The 1975, Khalid and BLACKPINK. British acts such as Idris Elba and CHVRCHES are also on the list, along with the acclaimed Kacey Musgraves, SOPHIE, Christine and the Queens and Janelle Monae. So when exactly is the festival, and how can you be there?

Coachella takes place over two weekends: April 12-14, and April 19-21.

The line-up is the same both times: so the Friday line-up for the first weekend will be the Friday line-up for the second weekend, and so on.

The public sale of passes begins tomorrow, January 4, at 11am PT (which is 7pm in the UK).

General Admission, which grants access to the venue and camping for one of the weekends, will cost $429.

General admission and a shuttle will cost $509, while VIP is priced at $999.

Childish Gambino is the Friday headliner, with other acts including Janelle Monáe, the 1975, DJ Snake, Diplo, Rüfüs Du Sol, BLACKPINK, Anderson Paak, and Kacey Musgraves.

The Saturdays, 13 and 20 April, will boast headline slots from Tame Impala; with Solange, Kid Cudi, Weezer, Aphex Twin, J Balvin, Billie Eilish, Bassnectar, Four Tet, Christine and the Queens, Wiz Khalifa, and Mac DeMarco.

And finally the two Sundays, on 14 and 21 April, will be spearheaded by Ariana Grande, with other appearances from Khalid, Zedd, Gesaffelstein, Bad Bunny, Dillon Francis, and CHVRCHES.

Of course those are just the headlines from the line-up, which is incredibly extensive – you can see the full list in the picture above.

The line-up has gone down extremely well online, with Coachella trending on Twitter since the announcement was made.

Kanye West and Justin Timberlake were both rumoured to be headlining this year, but neither are on the finalised lists.

Last year’s headliners were Beyonce, Eminem and The Weeknd.
