Kate Middleton wedding dress: Duchess of Cambridge wedding dress in pictures
Royal Bride Kate Middleton was a picture of elegance on her wedding day in 2011.
Kate, 36, officially become a member of the royal family when she married Prince William, 35, who is third-in-line to the British throne at Westminster Abbey.
The couple became the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Kate wore a stunning vintage-inspired wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen and featured a lace corset and floral lace sleeves.
The iconic ivory dress featured a victorian style bustle at the back and soft pleats leading to a satin train just under three metres in length.
Kate’s silk gown and train incorporated intricate lace appliquéd and was lovingly carried by her sister and chief bridesmaid Pippa Middleton in the cathedral.
The beautiful gown reportedly cost £250,000 and has inspired many replicas since.
The mother-of-three complimented her gown with the exquisite Cartier Halo Tiara. The headpiece, which is also known as Queen Elizabeth’s Halo Tiara, was given to the Queen in 1944 on her 18th birthday and has been worn by Princess Margaret and Princess Anne.
The Duchess changed into a second dress by the same designer for the evening reception.
