Believe it or not, what you eat could significantly affect your skin’s health and appearance.

When you’re tucking into chocolate, cakes and jelly sweets, most people worry about what it does to their waistlines, not their skin.

However, foods high in fat and sugar can contribute to inflammation in the body, which may manifest as acne, redness or dull skin.

If your diet doesn’t have enough vitamins such as A, C and E and omega-3 fatty acids, it could result in skin issues such as dryness, wrinkles and uneven skin tone.

If you’re looking to achieve a more youthful and radiant complexion, changing your diet could be the answer. But what foods should you prioritise?

Skincare experts at Supplement Doctor have shared the best foods to eat for glowing, youthful skin.

The experts suggested eating more fish to protect the skin from stress and boost collagen.

Princess Kate and Victoria Beckham are reportedly big fans of fish, opting to eat the healthy protein regularly.

Victoria reportedly eats grilled fish and vegetables daily while Kate chooses to eat sushi regularly.

Kate also revealed last year she cooks teriyaki salmon which is a fantastic source of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and nutrients.

Salmon, which is an oily fish, can help protect the skin from oxidative stress, leading to anti-ageing and collagen-boosting benefits, according to the experts.

Aesthetic doctors at Sozo Aesthetic Clinic told GB News that oily fish can help keep skin hydrated.

They said: “Oily fish helps boost skin hydration. Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish like mackerel, tuna and sardines are known for their anti-inflammatory properties, which can have considerable benefits to our skin.”

LOXA BEAUTY Dietitian Johanna Angman also suggested eating oily fish.

She said: “Oily fish also provides protein that boosts collagen and elastin. Increased production of collagen and elastin promotes plump and elastic skin.”
