Queen Elizabeth stands out in fluorescent PINK for Ladies Day at Ascot

The 91-year-old monarch wore her classic combination of long coat, matching hat and dress underneath as she arrived in horse-drawn carriage and wandered round the racecourse. 

The hot pink coat she was wearing was done up to the top and featured a round silver brooch on the left breast. 

Her hat, which was turned up at the brim, was of a matching colour and had a pink and green floral arrangement attached. 

She wore a tan coloured dress with pink flowers under her coat, and finished off the look with black buckled shoes, a black patent handbag and white gloves. 

The Queen, who is a life-long horse breeder and owner, has a runner – Maths Prize – in the Britannia Stakes, which could give the monarch her 24 Royal Ascot win.

Her Majesty appeared in two brightly coloured outfits yesterday – a blue one for the State Opening of Parliament and a yellow one for day two of Ascot. 

The light blue outfit the Queen wore during her speech at the State Opening of Parliament caused some controversy on Twitter. 

Many of her fans took to Twitter to share images of the Queen with her blue hat next to a picture of the EU flag in an attempt to show the similarity. 

The blue hat she was wearing featured blue flowers, with yellow middles, which people likened to the yellow stars on the EU flag. 

One Twitter user wrote: “So…the queen gave a speech in the Parliament wearing a peculiar hate. Tongue in cheek heh?” 

But arriving to Ascot just a few hours later, the Queen made a change from blue into yellow. 

The outfit was similar to the blue one she wore – a bright yellow collarless coat, the same she as the last, a matching yellow hat, and a green floral dress underneath. 

The outfit she appeared in at Ascot was much less controversial than the one she wore in the morning. 

While the Queen chose an outlandish colour for the today’s race event, one race-goer’s elaborate outfit almost caused her to suffer a nip slip. 

A young lady caught the eye of many passers-by in an outfit that nearly saw her exposed. 

The stunning cream dress with black piping was matched by a fabulous saucer-hat and a stunning smile. 

But little did she know that the dress gaped below her chest and her under-breast was exposed.
