From butterfly fascinators to lime saucer-like creations, Beatrice, 29, and Eugenie, 28, are famed for adopting extravagant millinery designs at public events.

While all are memorable, not all have proved popular and the sisters have sometimes hit the headlines for the wrong reasons.

2011 wedding to was one such occasion.

Beatrice’s dusty pink Philip Treacy hat was compared with a pretzel – and even an octopus – while Eugenie was criticised for her blue cobalt fascinator with overblown feathers.

What will Princess Beatrice and Eugenie wear at the Royal Wedding? Will the sisters wear big hats?

Milliner Victoria Potter, who has created a hat for one of the guests at tomorrow’s wedding, predicts Eugenie will go bold again with a “fabulous large headpiece”

She told Express.co.uk: “No is complete without Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie causing a fashion frenzy.

“The royal siblings tend to go for individuality above all else and making a statement with their chosen headwear.

“They’re young, fun and love experimenting with quirky fashion and I imagine that Saturday will be no different.”

The creator of fashionable brand LoveHats predicts Eugenie’s hat will include “oversized feather flowers sculpted with wire mounted onto a simple small millinery base” while Beatrice will opt for a “modern sculpted hat”.

She added both sisters should pick styles to compliment the more rounded shapes of their faces.

Good choices would be “a pillbox or small sculpted base – or a mounted design”.

Award-winning London milliner Awon Golding expects Beatrice and Eugenie to rely once again on favourite designer Philip Treacy and is also hoping the sisters set tongues wagging with bold looks.

She said: “Philip is seen as the go-to for high profile royal weddings. I’m hoping they will out-do the flamboyance of their last looks.“

Her recommendation for Beatrice is to try a beret-style or short rimmed hat, in rich navy “to bring out the auburn in her hair”.

She added: “Eugenie has a slightly squarer jawline so I would recommend balancing this with a wider brim hat set at an angle. Her chestnut hair would be set off well by crimson red.”

And what about their dresses?

Karine Laudort, Fashion Commentator and Founder of Kay Flawless PR, says the sisters’ fashion choices have “matured” from their early quirky choices.

She told Express.co.uk: “Beatrice has even recruited a celebrity stylist, Charlie Anderson, who also styles Emma Watson and has been seen wearing very stylish outfits of late to attend fashion events.”

Sarah Ferguson’s eldest daughter wore Valentino Couture to Kate’s wedding and is likely to wear “another Italian designer”, said Ms Laudort.

She tipped Eugenie to go for an “independent but internationally known brand”, suggesting Canadian designer Erdem Moralioglu could be favourite.
