Three crew members were sent to the hospital after an American Airlines flight bound for Hartford, Connecticut yesterday evening reported a “strong electrical smell” on board.
The flight, which originated in Charlotte, North Carolina, was forced to make an emergency landing in Raleigh after numerous passengers noticed the strong odor. The pilot and co-pilot were taken to UNC Rex Healthcare hospital, as was a flight attendant, although she was transported for an unrelated reason, reports Hartford’s WSFB Eyewitness News 3.
According to WSFB, six other passengers were also checked out by medical professionals, but they declined a hospital visit. In total, there were 146 passengers on board the flight.
