Queen Letizia of Spain joined her husband of 14 years, King Felipe VI, for a royal visit to Moal village in Cangas de Narcea yesterday.

The village in northern Spain has been awarded the winner of the exemplary village during the Princess of Asturias awards.

The prestigious annual award was formerly known as the “Prince of Asturias Awards” but was renamed when Felipe VI became King and his eldest daughter Princess Leonor became the heir apparent.

The royal couple met local people and well-wishers during their visit to the award-winning village.

The 46-year-old was pictured perusing local produce, helping a woman shelling beans and taking a selfie with a young girl.

Queen Letizia looked smart in a blue shirt tucked into a pair of high-waisted navy pinstriped trousers.

The stylish royal, who is known for her modern fashion choices, teamed the masculine tailoring with a pair of lace-up navy brogues.

Wearing simple make-up and a natural coloured lipstick the Monarch wore her hair down in a gentle loose wave.

The Spanish Queen was pictured earlier in the week with American director Martin Scorsese who is also a recipient of a 2018 Princess of Asturias Award for the arts.
