The world of Fortnite keeps on changing. Just a few days after season 7 introduced a slew of new features, including planes, developer Epic has teased the addition of swords to the battle royale game. While we don’t have any real details on how they’ll work or when they’ll be available, swords should dramatically shake up the world of Fortnite, which is primarily built around shooting mechanics. Up-close melee combat would add a whole new dimension.

When they do arrive, swords will be part of one of the busiest periods in Fortnite’s history. With season 7, developer Epic not only introduced a revamped island and features like planes and zip lines, but it also introduced a brand-new mode called creative that’s a lot like Minecraft. In fact, a new section of the Fortnite island was created specifically to show off fan creations. On top of that, Epic just launched its own PC and Mac games store.
