Avengers: AWKWARD news for Marvel's Infinity War just days after Endgame trailer

It seems the 2018 smash, which saw Thanos (Josh Brolin) destroying 50% of all living things in the universe, may be the biggest movie of the year – but it’s far from perfect. The website Movie Mistakes has declared it is the most gaffe-ridden movie of the last 12 months – with more than 20 continuity errors and blunders.

There are 22 issues with the film overall, the site says – although the vast majority are incredibly small and hard to spot.

It’s worth pointing out that these are user-submitted mistakes, and so the fact Infinity War has the most is most likely a reflection of the fact that more people saw it.

In any case, one mistake reads: “When Doctor Strange attempts to use the Time Stone on Ebony Maw, Maw ties up Doctor Strange telepathically and strangles him unconscious. Beside Doctor Strange is a police car and a motorbike tipped on its side.

“Maw then lifts the ground Doctor Strange is lying on, but the police car has been replaced by an SUV and the motorbike has disappeared. The shadows also change.”

Another reads: “In the flashback to Gamora’s planet while Thanos is walking beside Gamora, Ebony Maw disappears in the open view.”

And a third says: “The blanket used by Thor on the Guardians’ ship moves several times between shots.”

“When Peter sees the ship whilst he is on the school bus, he taps Ned on the shoulder and asks him to make a distraction,” begins another.

“When he taps Ned on the shoulder, Ned has earphones in both ears, and one of the earphones falls out when Peter taps him, whilst the other earphone remains in his ear.

“But in the next shot, neither of his ears has an earphone in them.”

Still, these are all very minor mistakes – and won’t in any way dampen the excitement of Avengers: Endgame’s first footage, which picked up more than 280 million views in 24 hours; a record for a movie trailer.

That film is the sequel to Infinity War and is hugely expected to be the biggest release of 2019.
