Queen Letizia of Spain, 45, stepped out in Madrid today, and the royal showed off her chic style with a perfectly put together outfit.

The mum-of-two wore a blue pleated skirt with a brown, white and blue floral pattern.

Picking out the colours on the skirt, Letizia paired this with a plain white top and matching brown accessories.

Letizia held an oversized brown leather clutch in one hand, and her brown cross-strap shoes add inches to her small frame.

A pair of long drop earrings could be seen hanging from her ears.

Despite presumably having an army of makeup artists and hairdressers at her disposal, Letizia kept her look simple.

Her hair hung down straight over her shoulders, and she kept her makeup to her favourite dark brown eyeshadow and light berry pink lipstick.

A sweep of bronzer added a pop of colour to her cheekbones.

Other than her earrings, Letizia did not appear to be wearing any jewellery, and her wrists and neck looked bare.

The Queen is often busy with charity engagements, and is regularly seen out and about in Madrid on her way to meetings and events.

Red is one of her favourite colours, and recently the Queen wore a very bold red suit, with the blazer and trousers matching by designer Roberto Torretta.

The look is from the A/W 2017/18 collection, and it isn’t the first time she has worn the label.

The blazer had a faux red shirt underneath that was pinned to it to keep the shape, while the trousers had a small side split.

She added some matching red Magrit suede heels and red lips with the daring look.

A red patterned bag was also part of the ensemble, by designer Carolina Herrera.

Previous to this, Letizia chose a 50s style outfit to meet the president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, 52, and his wife, Maryna Poroshenko.

She stunned in a blue t-shirt and midi skirt ensemble.

Along with her husband King Felipe VI, 50, Letizia welcomed the Ukrainian first couple to the Palacio de la Zarzuela, their official residence in the outskirts of Madrid.

After a busy couple of weeks including trips to Geneva and the Caribbean, Letizia looked glowing and relaxed, wearing a tight, navy blue figure-hugging jersey T-shirt and floral skirt.

Cinched in a the waist by a chunky navy blue belt with silver buckle, the whimsical A-line midi skirt was covered in strong blue, purple, yellow and pink floral patterns.
