Danvers worked alongside a Kree alien ally named Mar-Vell.

The Kree are blue aliens whose technologic and scientific prowess are far superior to humans’.

During an explosion, Mar-Vell went to protect her, and his DNA fused with her own.

The accident resulted in her gaining superhuman powers and thus was born Captain marvel.

Brie Larson is set to play Carol Danvers in her solo movie on Friday, 8 March 2019.
