Avengers 4: The SURPRISING way Agent Peggy Carter would defeat Thanos

Atwell played the massively popular Marvel favourite in three big-screen capers, as well as her own series.

She wasn’t in Infinity War and her involvement in next year’s as-yet-untitled Avengers 4 remains a distant rumour – but she’s joked about how Peggy would have sorted out Thanos.

The Josh Brolin-played supervillain did, of course, end half of humanity at the end of Infinity War by collecting all of the Infinity Stones – the climax of his questionable plan to help preserve the universe’s resources.

Speaking at ACE Comic Con and reported by ComicBook.com, Atwell entertained fans by saying what Peggy would have done to stop him.

“I think she’s maybe just give him a therapy session,” she said.

“I think she would help him celebrate his differences.

“I think she would give him a little red lipstick and say that it works wonders for me when I’m having a bad day.”

It was during that same panel that Atwell poured cold water on the idea of Peggy returning.

“Well, I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to play a beloved character for so long, as is,” she said.

“It’s very unusual. I wouldn’t have thought starting off in my career that that would happen. You do one character for however many months and then you go and do the next.

“So I think it’s an unusual position to be in – it would be very unusual to have the choice to do that again.”

She added: “I think the main thing, though, is if it were – if there were interest in Netflix or in her being in a film or something – that it would have to feel right.

“I wouldn’t want to go over old ground. It would have to be new, there would have to be higher production values so she could do more.”

Avengers 4 is out in 2019.
