Captain Marvel trailer release leaked? First look at Brie Larson 'to arrive VERY soon'
It’s to be taken with a big pinch of salt for now, but a report for MCU Cosmic suggests we could get a first proper look at Brie Larson in action as Carol Danvers before the end of the month.
The publication’s Jeremy Conrad claims that “I’ve been able to confirm that yes, the current plan is to release the first teaser trailer for Captain Marvel within the next two weeks”.
He adds that “it could arrive as early as next week”, which would be very soon indeed – and remarkably close to the Entertainment Weekly image reveal.
The magazine just days ago released the first official pictures of Larson and her co-stars in the 1990s-set movie, which comes out next March – officially kicking off the marketing campaign for the arrival of the most powerful player in the MCU.
Of course Marvel have yet to comment on a release date for a Captain Marvel teaser trailer, and with the film not landing in cinemas until March 2018, things aren’t too close to the wire just yet.
What fans do have, though, is an influx of new details provided by the Entertainment Weekly reveals over the last few days.
“You have this Kree part of her that’s unemotional, that is an amazing fighter and competitive,” Larson said.
“Then there’s this human part of her that is flawed but is also the thing that she ends up leading by.
“It’s the thing that gets her in trouble, but it’s also the thing that makes her great. And those two sides warring against each other is what makes her her.”
The movie is set to have moments of blockbuster action and rib-tickling humour, but also introspection and emotional conflict.
“That is something that is really exciting to me about this film: We did not cut corners on that stuff,” Larson added.
“Like, when it’s funny, it is funny, but also when there’s deep emotional things happening, it’s real.
“So I was able to bring some of those same things that I’ve brought to full dramatic roles into this, which I’m really proud of because I think it will really set this film apart.”
Joining her in the cast are the likes of Gemma Chan, Jude Law, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace and Marvel favourite Samuel L Jackson.
Annette Bening is also in the cast in an as-yet-undisclosed supporting role.
Captain Marvel is out on March 8, 2019.
