Since the events of ‘s Captain America Civil War Scott Lang has been under house arrest.

And during one early scene a shot of a movie shown playing on the TV.

Movie fans will know it’s a clip from the 1978 film National Lampoon’s Animal House, featuring Donald Sutherland’s professor.

It’s the scene where he gets high on weed with his students and they get all existential together.

In the scene Sutherland says: “Okay. That means that our whole solar system could be, like one tiny atom in the fingernail of some other giant being.

“This is too much! That means one tiny atom in my fingernail could be–.”

The student finishes: “Could be one little tiny universe.”

Of course this could be a nice little nod to the Ant-Man shrinking down the Quantum Realm,

Fans will know Avengers 4 set photos appear to show characters like Ant-Man in scenes from the past like the Battle of New York – an event he didn’t take part in.

But what if the way the Avengers gather the Infinity Stones is by shrinking down to other alternate universes and collecting alternate versions of them?

Perhaps there’s more than meets the eye to this Animal House Easter Egg.

Avengers 4 will be released in UK cinemas on April 26, 2019.
