Aquaman end credit scene leak: After credits will include THIS DC villain
Aquaman won’t be swimming into cinemas until later this year, but more and more details are emerging.
Blockbuster end credit scenes are becoming a major feature of any DC or Marvel release.
They are used either to insert an amusing gag scene or to set up a potential major future storyline.
The latest report from the Aquaman production reveals that it is the latter and also further expands our understandig of what to expect in the main movie itself.
Originally it was assumed that the main villain would be Black Manta. He will be played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and has already been seen fleetingly in the first major trailer released last week at San Diego Comic Con.
However, it seems that Patrick Wilson’s King Orm, Aquaman’s half-brother will be the principal baddie in the latest DC epic.
So who and what will be shown in the and credit scene?
Discussing Film said: “From our sources, we can confirm that Warner Bros’ next DC film, Aquaman, which will splash into cinemas on December 21st, will currently include a post credits scene featuring Randall Park’s Dr Stephen Shin and Yahya Abdul Mateen II’s Black Manta… setting up Black Manta for a larger villainous role in potential Aquaman sequels.”
This already implies that Black Manta will not play a major role in the first Aquaman solo outing.
AQUAMAN FIRST SCREENING REACTIONS: “VERY EMOTIONAL” AND “SURPRISING HORROR”
From the trailer and successive reports, it seems clear the movie will focus on the family drama between the brothers, with flashbacks to Nicole’s Kidman’s Queen Atlanna, Aquaman’s mother.
The main action scenes seen so far show the half-brothers fight for the throne in single combat and face each other at the head of underwater armies.
Black Manta has been seen, but will evidently be laying the groundwork for future plotlines.
AQUAMAN IS OUT IN THE UK ON DECEMBER 14 AND IN THE US ON DECEMBER 21
