Venom release date: When is Venom starring Tom Hardy out in the UK and US?

Venom picks up with its protagonist Eddie Brock, an investigative journalist, whose career is left in tatters after a scandal.

As he attempts to revive his career, he decides to investigate the Life Foundation, run by a genius inventor named Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed).

Brock comes into contact with an alien symbiote which bonds with him, and Eddie Brock becomes Venom – or rather, has Venom inside of him. It’s complicated.

When is Venom out in the UK and USA?

Both countries get the Marvel based movie at the same time, October 5, 2018.

Venom is a wildly popular comic book character who briefly appeared in the 2007 film Spider-Man 3, with Topher Grace playing the villain.

But for the solo movie starring Hardy, Venom has a more complex side.

It is this dichotomy between Brock and Venom which makes the solo move that much more enticing.

During Comic Con, Hardy described his character as an antihero with no scruples who will do whatever it takes to resurrect his career.

But he also has a good heart and means well, which is what leads him to investigate The Life Foundation.

“He kind of finds his perfect opposite partner in his huge great alien beast that arrives and live rent-free in his body and no one will believe him that its there,” Hardy said.

Venom’s director Ruben Fleischer told Entertainment Weekly what drew him to the character of Venom.

“Usually a human gets imbued with powers or an alien comes from outer space and has to figure out how to live on our Earth,” Fleischer said.

“But this is really about a relationship between two people who have to work together to create this hybrid symbiotic relationship.”

His girlfriend is played by Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, Eddie’s girlfriend and a district attorney.

The Marvel-based movie is being produced by Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Venom infects US and UK cinemas on October 5, 2018.
