Avengers 4 director teases Avengers Infinity War sequel as ‘our BEST work for Marvel yet’
Filming wrapped last year and Joe and Anthony Russo are now deep into post-production of their next Marvel epic.
Speaking with Deadline, Joe was asked how they were feeling about their Avengers Infinity War sequel.
He said: “You know, we’re very proud of it.
“I think ultimately Avengers 4 may be our best work for Marvel.”
Joe added: “I think we’ve grown with every movie that we’ve made there.
“We’ve grown with the characters. We’ve grown with the cast.
“As filmmakers we’re very happy and very excited with the movie.”
Joe was also asked where they were up to now with getting Avengers 4 finished.
Joe replied: “We’ve been in post-production on it since the release of Infinity War and we’ve got some additional photography that we’re doing in a month or so.”
While Avengers 4 acts as an ending to the first decade of Marvel movies, it may not be the last for the Russo Brothers.
A couple of days ago Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 director James Gunn was fired for inappropriate joke tweets that resurfaced and now Disney will be looking for his replacement.
As it stands the Russo Brothers are the only other filmmakers to have directed the Guardians, since they appear in both Avengers Infinity War and Avengers 4.
Nevertheless the current fan favourite replacement on social media is Taika Waititi.
The Kiki filmmaker helmed Thor Ragnarok, another cosmic comedy adventure in the MCU.
Avengers 4 will be released in UK cinemas on April 26, 2019.
