Avengers 4 LEAK: Mysterious new weapon REVEALED but whose is it?

Titbits of information and various concept art leaks have been surfacing for Marvel‘s Avengers 4 over the last few months.

And the latest is a new look at Thor’s Stormbreaker but also a mysterious new weapon.

The double-sided axe was posted by Marvel News India, but which other character in Avengers 4 could be using it other than Thor.

The Asgardian has no need for another weapon, so perhaps it could be Eitri the Dwarf King’s axe?

Meanwhile Thanos’ new weapon, a gigantic sword, has also leaked.

It’s the same double-ended blade he was seen holding in Avengers 4 concept art from a few months ago.

Of course the Mad Titan’s Infinity Gauntlet is damaged, as is he according to directors The Russo Brothers, so perhaps he’ll need to go back to classic combat.

During the Avengers Infinity War audio commentary, Joe Russo said: “See there, with his Gauntlet and the arm, the power that it takes to use all six Stones is significant, and clearly damaged the Gauntlet and damaged Thanos permanently.”

After all, the Mad Titan was even seen limping slightly in the final scene of Avengers Infinity War.

It’s not entirely clear what method the Avengers will use to reverse Thanos’ snap, although the directors have teased it will “come at an incredibly high cost”.

With this in mind perhaps Tony Stark will have to sacrifice himself to save his friends.

He’s the most obvious candidate since he’s the figurehead of the franchise, the mentor to Peter Parker and the character with a deep character development that has seen him move from selfish billionaire playboy to sacrificial father figure.

Let’s not forget that Doctor Strange traded the Time Stone for Tony’s life to ensure Endgame occurred – perhaps he needs him to die later on.

And what better way for Iron Man to bow out than to give up his life in exchange for those who died in Avengers Infinity War.

Avengers 4 will be released in UK cinemas on April 26, 2019.
