Avengers 4 spoilers: Could Avengers End Game mean DEATH of Doctor Strange?

Doctor Strange, aka the Sorcerer Supreme, came to a dusty end in the closing moments of Avengers: Infinity War.

Could Avengers End Game mean the death of Doctor Strange?

Despite being destroyed in Thanos’ snap along with half of the Avengers, and all life on earth, Strange is the only character who hints that he may be able to return.

During his final moments, he tells Iron Man that giving up the Time Stone to Thanos was the only way.

Before Thanos arrived for the showdown on Titan, Doctor Strange used the Time Stone to look into the future at all the possible outcomes of their fight with the Mad Titan.

Strange declares he found one possible outcome – out of 14 million – where they win.

Presumably every action Strange took from that point onwards was part of his plan to make the Avengers win.

Unless Strange’s idea of winning is radically different to everyone else’s, it’s a pretty safe bet to say he’s planning a comeback.

Marvel fans have speculated the title of Avengers 4 will be Avengers: End Game (though the Russo brothers have debunked the theory).

However, the Russos have said all along that the title of Avengers 4 would be a spoiler for Infinity War, and will play on a familiar theme.

So fans have reason to suspect End Game could be the title.

It is a theme which repeatedly comes up, and not just in Infinity War.

During Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ironman called Thanos the end game, albeit after having a Scarlett Witch-induced dream.

But more ominously, Doctor Strange said to Stark “we’re in the end game now” after he gave Thanos the Time Stone during the finale of Infinity War.

When Strange said the phrase end game was he talking about his own death?

Or, perhaps, was he talking about a greater machination behind which he is the puppet master, turning the Avengers towards victory and undoing Thanos’ snap.
