Doctor Strange might be a pile of dust right now, but this guy has seen the future.

He already saw the single way out of 14,000,605 possible paths to defeat Thanos.

Did he also see the distinct possibility that he himself might be turning away from the good guys in the coming years?

A new image posted online seems to open up the worrying idea that Dr Steven Strange will not always “choose the good.”

Avengers 4 will hit cinemas next April and it assumed that most heroes will somehow be restored.

The Doctor Strange sequel is rumoured to be in pre-production and the director Scott Derrickson has been enjoying teasing fans.

He’s not alone in that since the Russos have also been having fun with their latest Avengers 4 tweet which dropped an image of the set and the cryptic words, “Look hard.”

Derrickson actually posted a Marvel comic clipping of Doctor Strange in action with a very ominous tagline.

The image has Strange declaring ” I choose the good.”

Derrickson then added: “Until I don’t.”

The pages are from 1977’s What If Issue #18 and see Strange caught in a titanic cosmic battle between Dormammu and Eternity as the powers of both clash in him.

The comic asks: “Shall he choose or order? Good or evil? Shall he make the cosmic denial or cosmic affirmation?”

The fact that this has been posted by the director of Doctor Strange 2 has fans wondering if Domammu will return or Eternity will be introduced.

It certainly hints that the sequel will take Strange even further from Earth out into the galaxy, but also into the fabric of reality.

How much will the events of Avengers 4 lead into this? Will Strange continue to be key to protecting Earth and what sacrifices and dark choices might he have to make?
