Avengers Infinity War director ‘The Snap permanently DAMAGED Thanos and Infinity Gauntlet’

Yesterday the digital home release of Avengers Infinity War came available including a directors’ and writers’ commentary.

So naturally some more hints for Avengers 4 would come up at some point.

During the Snap scene Marvel fans will remember Thanos was left with a damaged Infinity Gauntlet before using the Space Stone to escape Thor’s grasp.

But now director Joe Russo has confirmed the power of the Snap also “permanently” damaged Thanos.

During the commentary, he said: “See there, with his Gauntlet and the arm, the power that it takes to use all six Stones is significant, and clearly damaged the Gauntlet and damaged Thanos permanently.”

Whether that means physically or psychologically is a mystery at this point, but Screen Rant point out that a weakened Thanos will obviously be to the Avengers’ advantage in Avengers 4.

Meanwhile it comes as little surprise that the Gauntlet was damaged, which we could see that from the scene suggesting Thanos cannot use all six stones at once without it.

Fans will remember the dwarf Eitri forged the Gauntlet for the Mad Titan, so perhaps the Avengers will need him to forge another – or use the other one in the MCU.

That’s right, Odin had one in his vault on Asgard, which Hela threw aside in Thor Ragnarok calling it fake.

But interestingly this one is right-handed, while Thanos’ is left-handed.

Of course Asgard was destroyed, but is it possible this other Gauntlet could be salvaged?

Even if the Avengers manage to gather all six stones via time travel, as is expected thanks to set photos showing past events, who could wield such an item and not die?

Some fans reckon Iron Man or Captain America will take the hit, sacrificing themselves to resurrect half the universe.

Meanwhile another contender is Star-Lord since he’s half-god and didn’t die when holding the Power Stone in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

Oh, and let’s not forget Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel is debuting in Avengers 4 and she’s going to be very powerful.

Avengers 4 will be released in UK cinemas on April 26, 2019.
