Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall beams in tartan suit as she visits Edinburgh music premiere
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, 71, was in Scotland yesterday attending an event at St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh.
The event was the premiere of musical event Requiem: The Souls of the Righteous, and was performed by the National Youth Choir of Scotland and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
For the distinctly Scottish occasion, Camilla got into the spirit of things by wearing the country’s national print.
Attending the ceremony without Prince Charles, she wore a striking green skirt suit with tartan print.
The suit was in a subtle shade of emerald green and featured a tailored blazer and a mid-length skirt.
The blazer was buttoned down the middle and featured a tartan turned out collar to match the dainty skirt.
Underneath the structured blazer, a hint of Camilla’s burgundy camisole was on display, adding a small pop of colour to the green-themed ensemble.
In another fun move, the pockets of the blazer also matched the Scottish print of the skirt.
While the blazer perfectly suited the Duchess, the skirt was the focal point of the outfit.
Featuring tartan print in different hues of green, it clung to Camilla’s legs and featured two flattering pleats near the hem.
On her feet, the Duchess of Rothesay, as she is known in Scotland, wore a comfy looking pair of tan block heels.
Camilla is often seen wearing this style of shoe, as it proves practical for royal visits and occasions.
When it came to accessories she kept things simple for the service, wearing her signature statement pearl and brooch choker and a few dainty rings.
She also kept her hair and makeup simple, wearing her hair in her usual bouncy blow-dry with just a touch of mascara and pink lipstick.
Prepared for the colder weather, she also carried a coloured pashmina with her and a brown leather clutch bag.
Camilla has been spending a lot of time in Scotland as of late, having spent her summer holidaying with Prince Charles in Balmoral and the Highlands.
Earlier this month she was also spotted visiting Mackintosh at the Willow in Glasgow, following refurbishments.
She beamed and stood close to Prince Charles, whom she has been married to since 2005, while carrying out the engagement.
The couple brushed arms and seemed joyful in each other’s company as they made their way through the streets of Glasgow.
Camilla wore a powder blue straight cut jacket, with an exaggerated collar, which fastened at one side.
