Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall celebrates her birthday by eating cake in slinky floral dress

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, 71, is celebrating her birthday today.

On a tour of her namesake region, Camilla spent the morning in St Mary’s on the Isles of Scilly, just off the Cornish coast.

The Duchess glowed and looked radiant as she cut slices of her birthday cake in a local St Mary’s cafe.

By her side was her husband Prince Charles, who was also in the best of spirits.

Defying her age, she looked stunning in a summery, sheer floral green dress.

The dress was in one of Camilla’s favoured cuts, coming to just below her knee.

Perfect for standing out on her special day, it was green in colour and covered in a delicate, colourful floral design.

It featured ruching detail around the bodice, flowing out into delicate pleats.

The dress was made from a light-weight, sheer material, allowing for the dress to have long sleeves – another Camilla style staple.

Knowing how unpredictable the British weather can be, the 71-year-old also had with her a camel Burberry trench coat.

Around her neck she wore her signature pearl necklace, matched with delicate pearl earrings.

her blonde hair was bouncy and blowdried, with the Duchess looking perfectly preened on her 71st birthday.

Her tanned skin glowed beneath her minimal makeup, just some pink lipstick and a subtle hint of eyeshadow.

After cutting her cake for locals and business owners, she shared a slice of it with Prince Charles.

Charles complemented his wife in a summery beige jacket and trousers.

After eating cake, the royal couple chatted with stall holders at the market on the harbour, with Charles pictured showing interest in local gins.

The couple beamed with happiness as they enjoyed the Duchess’ birthday in the Cornish sun.

Camilla has had a busy week ahead of her birthday, spending time in Cornwall in the run up to the day.

Yesterday she and Prince Charles toured local businesses during the Fowey Festival Celebration, on day one of their visit to Devon and Cornwall.

Beaming as she toured a local shop, Camilla held up a huge Cornish pasty to cameras, before showing it to a chuckling Prince Charles.
