Camilla Duchess of Cornwall, 71, joined her husband Prince Charles, 69, in Jamestown during their royal tour.

They attended an Art, Music, Dance and Youth Exhibition in Ghana during their nine-day trip.

Camilla chose a cream outfit for the day with a chic colour matching combo.

Her pale coloured tunic had a front split and long sleeves to keep her covered up in the heat.

The open collar showed off her gold necklaces she had layered with the outfit.

On closer inspection, the tunic was adorned with white embroidery along the shoulders, chest and sleeves.

She added some cream flared trousers to the look while wearing a jewelled poppy for Remembrance Day.

A classic pair of white heeled pumps finished the look, along with a pair of gold earrings and sunglasses.

For a pop of colour, she held an ornately designed fan in a multitude of colours which she was given.

Her £220 Heidi Klein raffia bag made a second appearance with her outfit as well.

She battled the heat with a simple white parasol which she used to shelter from the sun.

Camilla previously stepped out in a rather expensive outfit during a state dinner in the Gambia.

Joining her green dress were a pair of £33,772 Magic Alhambra earrings by Van Cleef & Arpels.

They were made of 18k gold with 158 diamonds, and have been worn by the Duchess of Cornwall on a number of occasions.

The tour is the first for Prince Charles to the Commonwealth Nations since it was decided he would succeed the Queen for the position as Head of the Commonwealth.

When Charles becomes King, he will also take on the title that his mother had long held.

The visit to the Gambia celebrates the countries return to the Commonwealth earlier this year.

The Gambia became part of the Commonwealth in February, five years after the now-exiled leader Yahya Jammeh pulled the country from it.

Prince Charles and Camilla have already visited the Gambia and Ghana and will next head to Nigeria.

Family life

Camilla was born on 17 July 1947 at King’s College Hospital, London, England.

Her parents were Major Bruce Shand and Rosalind Cubitt, the daughter of a baron.

She has a younger sister Annabel Elliot, 69, and a younger brother Mark Shand who passed away in 2014. He sadly died after falling and hitting his head.

Education

Camilla first attended Dumbrells school in Ditchling before moving onto Queen’s Gate School in Queen’s Gate, South Kensington at age 10, where she was known as “Milla”.

She attained one O-level before attending a  Mon Fertile finishing school in Tolochenaz, Switzerland.

She then went on to study French at the  University of London Institute in Paris.

First marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles

Camilla married Andrew Parker Bowles, an officer, on 4 July 1973, when Camilla was 26. The Queen Mother and Princess Anne attended the big day.

The couple have two children, Tom, who Prince Charles is a godfather to, and Laura.

The couple divorced amicably in March 1995.

Prince Charles told in his biography that he and Camilla had rekindled their love in 1986 after his marriage had “irretrievably broken down”.

They announced their engagement in February 2005, which was the Queen Mother’s.

It is thought to be one of the most valuable rings in the royal collection.

They wed on April 2005 at Windsor Guildhall, where Prince William acted as a witness for the pair, before honeymooning in Scotland at Prince Charles’ home in Birkhall.
