Celebrity Secrets: BRIT-nominated singer Carly Paoli shares her beauty tips
Which beauty products do you swear by?
Golden Seeds by Carol Joy, which is a golden millet oil supplement and fantastic for improving the condition of your nails and hair and making your skin feel healthy.
I also love La Prairie moisturiser.
What are your essential cosmetics?
Chanel Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup. It’s got a dewy finish, so makes you look more youthful.
What’s your top beauty tip?
Moisturise and protect your face from the sun!
Do you diet?
I’ve always eaten quite healthily.
I live on fruit – my nephew calls me a fruit bat.
How do you stay in shape?
I love dancing.
I have a dance teacher or I’ll go running – I normally do 8-10km.
How do you pamper yourself?
I’ll have a facial.
With the amount of stage make-up I’m putting on and taking off, it’s nice to let a professional do a cleanse and face mask – and an Indian head massage while that’s working its magic.
If you could change one part of your body what would it be?
I’d like a smaller bottom.
I take after my mum – she has a real Latin woman’s shape.
Everything fits your waist, but you have a tricky situation squeezing in the booty.
Having slightly bigger boobs wouldn’t have been a tragedy, either.
Would you ever have cosmetic surgery?
I couldn’t – my mum would kill me.
I can understand why women do, especially women in the limelight.
But every day we’re on this earth is a celebration and lines are a mark of the journey.
How would you describe your style?
Quite romantic and elegant.
I don’t really follow fashion – I just wear what suits me.
Who’s your favourite designer?
I have a few gowns by Oscar de la Renta.
I like their drama – some are asymmetric or a bit angular, and in bright colours.
I love Catherine Walker, too, for quintessentially British pieces, and Dolce & Gabbana for cocktail dresses.
What’s your favourite shop?
L.K. Bennett.
I love the classic lines and consistent sizing.
What’s the most you’ve spent on an item of clothing?
I once bought a leather jacket with embroidery and a peplum – a kind of old-fashioned bustle – from Alexander McQueen.
It went down in the sale, but still cost £4,000.
It’s really unusual and beautiful.
Carly’s album Live at Cadogan Hall will be released on August 24.
